So, could such a thing even be considered? (I hope I haven't overlooked anything)

It's still coming. First comes the solo game and then the tournaments, as official tournaments will be held on a single-player-game basis.

so everyone solves the same problem individually? and the fastest one gets points?

10 sudokus are solved in a row. 2 easy - time control 5 min each 3 medium - time control 10 minutes each 3 hard - time control 15 minutes each 2 very hard - time control 30 minutes each. The winner will be announced soon, who can solve all of them CORRECTLY But the tournament itself can last 2h 25 min. And there is no rating in such a tournament. Does everyone have 1400 or something? What do you think?

Why not do it the way other tournaments are structured? A couple gets to the front of the dock and the fastest one wins? The further the round, the harder the level ntx. You could also use the rating, so that there would be a small competitive element. Otherwise, it's a matter of only two or three users actually competing with each other... Another option is to make tournaments with different levels of difficulty so that others have a chance to shine too... :) nice thoughts then

Hmm, as many people as there are opinions. I would suggest the idea of giving out Sudoku puzzles in a row, but you can start doing the next one when the previous one is finished and you can do all your own. The fastest one wins. And you can very successfully add points. (It changes depending on how strong opponents you beat and how strong you lost to). I can also think of it myself. I already have some ideas in this regard. This time control is a bit suspicious. About 25% of people have to pass most of the time and 50% of people don't finish anything. Shoot your opinions, let's get this straight. That's what this forum is for :)

It's probably not quite the right topic, but could organizing competitions for solving checkers or chess problems, for example, ever be considered?
TiiT 2009-11-16T18:49:23+02:00
This is not really a topic here, but if it was a question, then I could say in response that the implementation of such a thing would require either: A task creator who would be willing to deal with it on their own initiative, OR, quite large-scale development, where a program would have to be created that would compile tasks itself. Since there are quite a few things in development at the moment, and time is already short, unfortunately we don't see such an option in the near future. Maybe sometime in the future - the idea itself is interesting!

Here above, people asked about problem chess. I guess there's no point in bringing it to Estonia separately, unless there's a fanatic hiding in the bushes somewhere. But there is a problem chess server in the world, with free games and a fairly competent rating system. http://chess.emrald.net/Welcome.php I haven't noticed any spam from them.

Starting tomorrow, the Sudoku tournaments that are being added will no longer require 4 players. If even one person shows up, the tournament will take place!
