Hello, the Estonian Mental Sports Association is once again organizing an online mental sports Olympiad for schools. The competition is free and takes place over the internet - students can take part in the Olympiad from their school's computer class. Last year, 1076 students from 70 schools participated in the competition. List of schools that participated last year There are four competitions: Russian checkers, chess, gomoku or five in a row and solving sudoku. There are 4 stages during the school year and the calculation takes place in three different age groups: elementary school (1st-4th grade), basic school (5th-9th grade) and high school (10th-12th grade). The goal of the competitions is to popularize mental sports among schoolchildren. Competition Guide Organizers Estonian Mental Sports Association, Estonian Mental Sports Portal Vint.ee, Estonian Chess Federation, Estonian Chess Federation, Estonian Chess League Schedule 04.11 - 07.11.2019 Training tournaments in all disciplines in the Vint.ee environment 08.11.2019 - Registration deadline for schools 09.11 - 24.11.2019 The competition organizer will register students in the system 25.11 - 28.11.2019 Stage I of the competition will take place Chess tournaments taking place on Monday (25.11) (Vint.ee There will be 3 tournaments in the environment - a separate tournament for all age groups) Checkers tournaments will be held on Tuesday (26.11) Gomoku tournaments will be held on Wednesday (27.11) Sudoku tournaments will be held on Thursday (28.11) Stage II of the competitions will take place on 13.01 - 16.01.2020 (tournaments will take place similarly to stage I) Stage III of the competitions will take place on 10.02 - 13.02.2020 Stage IV of the competitions will take place on 16.03 - 19.03.2020 Primary school tournaments will start at 13:00, secondary school tournaments at 13:30 and high school tournaments at 14:00. Participation in the competition It is important that each school appoints one person (principal / interest group leader / teacher) who will be the school's contact for the competition organizer, who will guide students on issues related to participating in the tournament, and who will be physically present in the school's computer classrooms during the tournaments. All schools must notify their wish to participate in the competition with a list of students to [email protected] by 08.11.2019.
