It really has happened that way. It was definitely not done intentionally. The logic of my choice was that I first chose the winner of each group and then I started to see who else could be stronger. So according to this logic, the last one (Austria) could be considered not taken into account. In retrospect, of course, it's good to say, because Austria is currently 0 in the table. But how to act fairly in such a case, so that you can say. In principle, I am ready to give up Poland as a counterweight (i.e. either one of them or even both of them advance, then I won't get points from them). I am not willing to give up any of the names of the group winners, because they were sure choices and Italy was also sure. I would have put them in one way or another.

Austria is off if you say so, there's no point in imposing any punishment for a little finger, and we don't have the European Championship here :P

Well, I believe that when the 1/8 finals are all clear, then Sten will also make some kind of summary..D...???

I think so too, kamby. And TiiDul could leave Austria out of the prediction, that last entry was there too.

During the last World Cup, I got into an exciting prediction group... There was a compact Excel table to enter, where you could predict each game separately, even with a specific result. For each correct prediction, you got points accordingly... The proportions were well-placed, i.e. in the subgroups you could make so-called result predictions, but you also got points for simply guessing the winner or draw; in the later phase, you also got points if 1 team participating in the play-offs was in the lead - of course, the more accurate, the more useful. Personally, I didn't do very well with the subgroups - I was constantly at the back of about 50 participants - but during the quarterfinals I briefly rose to 2nd place in the overall standings.... It was possible to earn additional points with additional questions (5 in total), some of which were quite nice... For example, which team would score the 31st goal of the tournament :p. It was also good that you could constantly monitor your own points standings and those of others, which gave betting a completely different look :D Sometimes it was even so that you couldn't figure out whether to support your favorite or stick to your own prediction :) A little thought to make betting on any team World Cup, European Championship or Olympic Games quite attractive.

rababalm, a good idea in itself, but all kinds of predictions are brutally available on the internet. For example, the same official UEFA prediction that I linked to above has most of these features, including real-time scores. I invited friends to join too, so it's exciting, although only 4 friends joined unfortunately. No one from here, although I shared my league link :(

I found it... I got 12 of the teams in the semi-finals right, and 11 of them were accurate. What was exciting was that in one table you could also see the offers of competitors on different pages, and of course the organizer himself constantly made interim summaries. We each symbolically bet 5 euros on the entire prediction competition and the winner got the whole pot. Rules: In the group games, you have to predict the result of the game (an exact result gives 12 points, if the winner is correct or there is a draw, but the goals do not match, then 10 points minus as many points as the number of goals missed, in other cases - missed goals as minuses) In the 1/8 finals, the right team in the right place - 15 points, the right team in the wrong place - 10 points 1/4 final: 20 points 1/2 final: 25 points final: 30 points third place: 26 points world champion: 33 points Additional questions that gave a boost: Stupid additional questions! (6 points each) 1. Will the final be decided in normal time? 2. Can we find a more successful goal scorer from one of the South American teams? (yes no) 3. Will any goalkeepers score a goal (penalties etc. also count)? (yes no) 4. Number of red cards in the tournament ( - 3)? 5. Which national team will score the 29th goal of the tournament?

posted by driv4r Hey, I'm posting in two parts because it got busy, now the groups and in a few minutes the ones who advanced from the playoffs... 1) Groups Group A: 1. France, 2. Romania, 3. Switzerland, 4. Albania Group B: 1. England, 2. Russia, 3. Slovakia, 4. Wales Group C: 1. Poland, 2. Germany, 3. Ukraine 4. Northern Ireland Group D: 1. Spain, 2. Czech Republic, 3. Croatia, 4. Turkey Group E: 1. Belgium, 2. Italy, 3. Sweden, 4. Ireland Group F: 1. Iceland, 2. Portugal, 3. Austria, 4. Hungary
Don't think I'm weird, but I'm quoting myself :D A is known, so you can already say that I only picked France first place. Same with B, here I only bet on Slovakia's 3rd place, Wales is still a decent surprise package, but very cool! (y) C was also well known and it went clean, although Poland is only behind Germany on goal difference. Same story with D and the prediction for this group wouldn't be particularly accurate :[ Groups E and F will be known soon, so let's really hope that they do better ;) (Currently Es 2 correctly and F none, but the standings will definitely change in them.) I've bet 5/8 on the rest of the group to advance, which in itself isn't bad...
